News - NPE 2015 Exhibition: Recycling is the focal point

At the end of March, Orlando (USA) hosted the 69th International Plastics Exhibition - NPE 2015. The participants of the exhibition were companies representing the entire plastics supply chain - from manufacturers of equipment and materials to plastics recycling companies and brand owners.

This year, the exhibition brought together 2,000 companies from different countries; the total number of visitors reached nearly 60,000 people.

The first-ever Zero Waste Zone was opened during the exhibition in order to demonstrate an effort to educate attendees on reduction, reuse and recycling of plastic materials. The latest innovative products and environmental technologies were showcased by leading companies specializing in plastics recycling. Besides, the exhibition program included fashion show of garments made from recycled plastics. Students from the Savannah College of Art and Design (USA) designed cutting-edge one-of-a-kind outfits for casual wear.

One of the focal points of the exhibition was the Design Center where visitors could learn about innovative solutions in plastics application, which were offered through the joint efforts of designers, engineers and recycling companies. Alternative solutions were offered primarily for the automotive industry and medicine. For the first time, plastic materials were used in the Audi A6 infotainment carrier.
